$10K iTunes gift card winner hung up Apple’s confirmation call
Gail Davis of Orpington Kent rode her luck when she became the lucky owner of 10 billionth App and got herself an invaluable iTunes gift card valued at 10,000 dollars. But she almost committed a suicide (of sorts) when she hung up a call from Apple’s VP of iTunes, who called to inform her of the prize she won.
Davis’s reason for this surprising move was because she thought that it was a prank call. Luckily for the UK based lady, her daughters stepped in to save the day and made their mother realize that it was a genuine call.
The lady after realizing her mistake did what any one would do, rang back Apple with no luck. Once that happened, the family had to go through a tense couple of hours after which an Apple executive rang back and things were back to normal. What’s your take on this whole development?

Isn’t a $10K iTunes gift card something you have to apply for or at least fill out a contest form? I’m confused how she could think it was a prank call if this is something that she had wanted to win? Or at the very lease she bought an apple product and saw that this was a promotion they were running.
