5 reasons to use Outlook 2010
Quick Share:
As many of you know, Office 2010 has gone live. One product which has definitely got my attention and has me excited is Outlook 2010. To show my love to the latest version of the email client, I have come up with five reasons why you should give the email management tool a try. Reasons listed after the jump.
- Improved Ribbon View – I have always been a fan of Ribbon View ever since its introduction, since it logically organizes a set of related commands under a Tab, thus saving me time and enabling me to access the options I need in less time. Outlook 2007 had the Ribbon view but not for the main Outook window. The 2010 version has filled that gap which gives it a sexy look besides making it more user experience friendly. Contextual Tabs are also part of the Customizable Ribbon which appear on the basis of the task you do.
- Quick Steps – An all new management feature that everyone will find useful. We all do tend to do some kind of management stuff for our emails such as moving them to another folder and so on. Quick Steps gives you the option to define these common steps once and then use them whenever we need it by simply calling it.
- BackStage View – Want a single place to perform tasks such as account management, (adding a new account, or making changes to an existing one), print, import/export files, customize the Ribbon and so on? BackStage View is the thing you are looking for which can be activated by clicking on the File Tab. This management view is designed in such a way that it helps me locate the things I want to use in no time.
- Outlook Social Connector – With social networking on the rise these days, it is only natural to bring the social networking experience to Outlook 2010 as – Outlook Social Connector is a step in that direction as it allows you to connect to your social contacts (which may be on Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Windows Live) without having to leave Outlook 2010.
- Picture Editor – Use of visually appealing images has always been fruitful since it engages the intended audience and helps them grasp the information we are trying to communicate more easily. The latest update to this feature builds on this very idea as it brings useful set of picture editing tools such as Background removal, screen clipping tool, along with improvements to the existing features such as improved cropping.
