The news which I am going to share with you is something many including me were not expecting. We previously informed you that Office 2010 will be available in both 32 bit and 64 bit version. Well today’s news is built on that. Coming to the main point, the news is that both 32 bit and 64 bit version will be coming in a single DVD. Well this answers the question of whether both the version will be coming in separate DVDs or it is the other case. Ars Technica posted the following message:
If you want to install 64-bit Office 2010, you must uninstall all 32-bit Office products fist, and then run setup.exe in the x64 folder. If you want to install 32-bit Office 2010, close this setup. Then navigate to the x86 folder at the root of your CD/DVD and run setup.exe.
From this message you probably might have deduced the following two points
Speculation exists that this message might have been included for development reasons, and the chances of both the versions burnt into a single DVD are pretty slim. Well it would be early to comment on this, the wise thing is to wait for an official comment from Microsoft. Thats what we intend to do.
