Boy there is no keeping Digitimes from its rumor spreading ways is it? The Taiwanese publication claims that Google is working with Asus on the next iteration of Nexus 7 that will cost you just 99 dollars. That’s not all. More details after the break.

Asus is believed to be working with the search engine giants on not one but two Nexus 7 tablets. One tablet will be an upgraded version of the current Nexus 7 and will cost $199, while the other one will be priced cheaply and will cost you just $99.

Both the models will be thinner than Asus’s current offering and will be hitting market by the end of 2012. It will be interesting to see how what will the $99 offer in terms of hardware specs and what sacrifices is Google and Asus expecting from its tablet users.
