All you need to know about Google Phone aka Nexus One
We all heard rumors regarding Google introducing its own mobile phone, Google Mobile. Guess what they turned out to be real. Nexus One is the name assigned to Google’s very own phone. Mario Queiroz, Vice President of Product Management at Google has confirmed the existence of this phone. All details regarding the search engine giant’s mobile phone are mentioned below.

- Hardware: HTC is manufacturing and fulfilling the hardware needs of the Android-based phone.
- Software: Google has designed and developed the user interface as well as the apps that will run on this phone.
- Network : GSM.
- Selling Mechanism: Google will sell it online by itself not to forget, it will be unlocked as well.
- Carrier-free : Nexus One is independent of carrier, so customers will have to get a carrier of their choosing.
- Processor : Powered by the high performance Snapdragon processor.
- Display screen: OLED Touch screen.
- Keyboard: On-screen keyboard.
- Other: Scroll bar, animated desktop wallpaper.
- Launch Date : Late January (May be pushed to February).

Currently Nexus One is going through the dogfooding process (where Google rolls out its own product to its employees for testing purposes) i.e. being internally tested.
What does this mean? To say the least, it means we have an interesting year ahead in cell phone industry, specifically for the Android based market and promises a tough competition and a lot of excitement for the mobile phone audience.
