Google CEO: 1.5 M Android phones sold each month
Don’t know why to choose an Android phone? Well, who better than Google CEO Eric Schmidt can answer this question and give you a reason to go for Google’s open source mobile eco system. This is what he precisely did while speaking to the investors at the Google HQs. He revealed that on an average, 65,000 Android phones are being sold on a daily basis. Just multiply this number by 30 days and you will yourself Android is a widely and wildly growing phenomena.
Here is how Google CEO revealed this amazing stats:
Our partners are shipping about 65,000 Android handsets per day but if you check the blogosphere you’ll discover there are some reports that that number might be quite low
The CEO took advantage of the opportunity and indirectly criticized Apple for their close ended systems:
We’re trying to build an entire ecosystem of openness, the inverse of the other guys
Would you believe it folks, Android is being used on 34 mobile devices in 49 countries. I can name a few of these devices which of course include my personal favorite HTC Desire, HTC Legend, HTC Hero, Motorola Droid, HTC Incredible and so on.
