Android Market app getting a sexy facelift and much more (Updated)

One area where Google has been criticized highly is the Android Market app, which simply put isn’t as user friendly as it should be. But all of this is about to change as Google is preparing to roll out an update for Android Market app that will totally change the complexion of the app and will make apps more discoverable.
Here is a list of the changes that will be coming your way in the next couple of weeks:
- A new carousel on the home and category screen that will showcase the promoted applications. Users will have the option to flip through the carousel and go to the download page of the app with a single tap.
- Adds two new categories for Widgets and Live Wallpapers.
- Addition of Related Content in the apps detail page. This allows users to discover apps and developers to get their work showcased.
- Introduces application content rating to provide users with more information about applications they are interested in.
- Maximum size for .apk files have been increased to 50MB.
- Streamlines the browse-to-purchase experience by moving all information about the app on a signal page removing the burdensome work to navigate across different tabs.
The upcoming Android update is supported on devices running Android 1.6 or a higher version.
