Anonymous the famous hackers group, which has been previously involved in hacking the websites of Malaysian government, Spain Police, Indian government and which has also been responsible for PlayStation Network outage has now decided ‘something big’ that is to launch an attack on the largest social network of the world, Facebook.

In their recent announcement Anonymous has claimed that they will attack Facebook on November 5th, 2011, because they think “Facebook has been selling information to government agencies so that they can spy on people from around the world”, which explicitly means that the hacktivist group is expressing their concerns over the privacy of Facebook.

On other hand, one reason of announcing the attack on Facebook could be ‘popularity’ – which the group is actually gaining right now - although by looking at the previous acts of Anonymous it doesn’t seem that they are in need of more recognition, for this is not the first time that Anonymous has decided to launch an attack on a top-notch company, they have been doing all this for a long time now.

No doubt, Anonymous has gained a lot of fan following, but not to forget that Anonymous has also made itself some cyber-enemies, like those Turkish hackers who recently defaced Anonymous Social Network, AnonPlus.

Everything you do on Facebook stays on Facebook regardless of your “privacy” settings, and deleting your account is impossible, even if you “delete” your account, all your personal info stays on Facebook and can be recovered at any time. Changing the privacy settings to make your Facebook account more “private” is also a delusion.
