AT&T certainly has the knack of getting itself in the headlines be it for a right reason or a bad reason. The latest activity from the American based carrier sees them remove Google search from their first Android device, Motorola Backflip. Guess who replaced Google? Yahoo. They would have wanted to do the Cupertinos a favor by using their search engine, but since the iPhone makers don’t have one, Yahoo got the nod.
This information was shared by Chris Ziegler of Engadget who stated:
Yahoo has replaced Google as the default search provider throughout the phone. It’s crazy: the home screen widget, the browser, everything’s been programmed to use Yahoo.
I am pretty interested in what will be the reply from Apple’s favorite telecom partner regarding this rather strange move. I wonder how will be Google folks feeling about it.
