The title of the post doesn’t paint a good picture if you are a Microsoftie doesn’t it?  But truth must be told even if it happens to be a bitter truth of Microsoft’s legenedary browser losing its grip on the competitive browser market. According to the stats generated by StatCounter’s research arm, Global Stats, Internet Explorer failed to take its browser market share above or equal to 50% and instead continued its down town journey from 49.87 (September) to 49.23.

Browser Market Share October

Firefox hasn’t had a good October either as the market share for Mozilla’s open source browser dropped down from 31.5 (September) to 31.24 percent. Chrome as you might have guessed it is gaining ground and that too big time as it market share now stands at 12.39 compared to last month share of 11.54 percent.

The month of September didn’t bring good news for Internet Explorer as it saw its market share slip below the 50 percent mark for the first time. Microsoft would have hoped to see better results based on the successful launch of IE 9 but that is not the case obviously as the down fall has  continued in the month of October as well.
