Droid 2 pre-orders start tomorrow, will hit stores on 12th August

Engadget’s source have once again proven themselves as a reliable one and have done the giant gadget a world of good as well. 12th August, the previously rumored release date for Droid 2 has just received the official confirmation thanks to a PR rolled out by Verizon and Motorola. Price and release date follows after the break.
The Droid successor will be available for pre-order on verizonwireless.com starting from tomorrow 11th August. The device will hit the Verizon Retail stores starting from Thursday. The Android 2.2 phone comes with a price tag of $199(2 year contract) after a $100 mail in rebate. If you desire, you can download its user guide and get yourself familiar with the phone.
Here are the more exciting aspects of the phone:
- 3.7” multi-touch screen.
- 5 MP camera.
- Froyo.
- Adobe Flash 10.1.
- 8 GB microSD card included (max support of 32 GB SD card).
- 8 GB internal memory.
- WiFi.
- 3G hotspot.

I think it’s refreshing when companies release phones in colors other than black or silver. I’d buy this if I wasn’t so hopelessly reliant on the look and feel of Sense UI.
