Rumor: Droid 2 to hit the stores on 23rd August with Froyo love
Droid Xtreme has gotten an official announcement, but that doesn’t mean that the rumors should stop for the other Droid successor, Droid 2. According to the latest round of rumor, the device will go live on 23rd August and is expected to be stocked with Froyo aka Android 2.2.

If this rumor turns out to be true, Droid 2 will become the first Android device to become pre-installed with Froyo which in other words means Flash 10.1 fun and more. Current test versions of the Android phone are running on Android 2.1 but the Verizon folks are believed to be putting in all their effort to make sure that the device goes live with Android 2.2 running inside.
