Official Facebook app for iPad going live in the coming weeks
The title of the post says it all doesn’t it? New York Times report that the official iPad version of Facebook is in its final testing stages and will be landing on the App Store as a free download in the next few weeks.
A Facebook employee who wishes to remain anonymous has revealed that the social network CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has been personally involved in the Facebook iPad project and has had a big saying on the design and unique feature of the apps which are:
People who have seen the application said it has a slick design that has been tailored for the iPad and its touchscreen interface. Facebook developers and designers have also overhauled the Facebook Chat and Facebook Groups features for the application. And the app will go beyond the features available on the Facebook Web site by allowing users to shoot and upload photos and videos directly from the iPad’s built-in cameras.
Even though we don’t have an official confirmation/announcement, one would have expected Facebook to roll out the iPad specific app considering the impact and popularity of Apple’s magical Tablet. For more iPad and Apple related stuff, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and subscribe to our RSS Feed.
