Facebook has rolled out yet another small but a pretty useful change. Starting from today, you will be allowed to upload and view slightly larges photos which of course will improve the photo viewing experience a little bit if not more. The new maximum size for photo upload is 720 pixels. Older images that have been uploaded prior to this update will not be enlarged by about 20 percent and will stick to their old and original size which is 604 pixels.

This is how the announcement was made:

We’ve begun increasing the maximum size for photos on Facebook by almost 20 percent to 720 pixels to give you higher quality photos and make viewing them more enjoyable.

Note: All uploads on Facebook.com will support the new photo size, but uploads made from some external applications may continue to use the previous size.

As always, the roll out will be a gradual one, so you might not see the changes immediately.
