New York Times report that your mine and everyone’s favorite social network Facebook will be launching the much awaited location features next month when its Facebook Developer Conference f8 kicks off. In a nutshell, starting from April, you will be able to share your location details with your buddies. More details after the jump.

The location features will be a two way road as it will
Although the prospect of getting geolocation features has everyone excited, I am particularly interested in how much customization will these features bring. For example will we be given the option to decide whom to share your location with and vice versa. If you think on it for a moment this is a must have control. You wouldn’t want your parents to always keep track of where you are, If you know what I mean. On a more serious note, everyone wants to have some sort of privacy.
Another challenge the most popular social network faces is to roll out these features to its base which is above 400 million users. This is an opportunity for them as well, as they will be able to provide location specific advertisements which will make both Mark Zuckerberg and Co, and the advertisers happy.
