Facebook Timeline: Get it right now without waiting [Guide]
Facebook recently along with other exciting features has also unveiled the new Facebook Timeline in its f8 developers conference that was held on Sept. 22, 2011, in San Francisco. The timeline is a kind of new Facebook profile or a feature that lets you share the story of your whole life since you were born on a single page. Although, this feature is only accessible to developers right now, but still there’s a way for you to get this amazing ‘Facebook Timeline’ right now. Find how after the break.
Facebook has told that its new timeline feature will probably be available for non-developers (all Facebook users) at the end of this month, but if you cannot wait till that fortunate day, then you can enable it now by following the below steps:
Three things to Note before you begin:
-
During the developer release, only other developers will be able to see your new timeline. Everyone else will see your old profile.
-
The timeline feature will not work on other machines and will get auto-off once you try logging into Facebook from another computer, so in order to activate it back you will need to copy and paste this link –> http://www.facebook.com/USERNAME?sk=timeline (Enter your own username) in the browser’s tab.
-
You will need to verify your account in order to enable the new features of Facebook, you can do that by adding your phone number or credit card details to your Facebook account. Follow this link to enter your phone-number details.
Steps To Enable the New Facebook Timeline Now:
-
Log in to your Facebook account.
-
Go to the Facebook developer page by typing ‘Developer’ in the search box or by simply following this link.
-
Click Allow for entering the Facebook developers page.
-
The pop-up window will appear, and you will need to enter Display Name and App Namespace for your new app. You can type anything in the boxes, but do not enter two same words in the given spaces, or else it will not continue, and then click the Continue button after checking the “I agree to the Platform Privacy Policy” box. (This is the step where Facebook will ask you to verify your account, if your account was not verified before)

-
Follow the above step and click Save and Finish button in the next page.
