Intel is the world renowned name when it comes to Desktop Personal Computers and its trusted chip-set  Some of us might still hold very close to their hearts their very first Intel motherboard embedded computing systems even though they would practically be of no use to them anymore. A sad news for all those Intel admirers is that Intel has decided to fall back from their processing of motherboards. Intel has decided to shift their attention and resources to the making of other products, They however mentioned that all the existing motherboards and those currently being shipped to their customers would all be dealt with throughout their warranty periods.

This shift from the Electrical giant may have come owing to the increasing trend of people preferring laptops and combos like Surface Tablets of full fledged Personal Computing systems. The backups provided by the less heftier devices made the sales of Personal Computers go down by a large percentage. The falling back of Intel from making motherboards does not necessarily mean the a particular farewell to tower PCS because a large share of PC motherboard production has already been taken care of by Asus and Gigabyte among other manufacturers. The motherboards being produced by these companies are far more technology and component rich than the competition they were having to face by Intel’s motherboards. Thus, for the individual PC user this news may not actually come as a big blow.

The future years are the years of compactness and technology enhancement combined with portability. It is owing to this efficiency that it may be proposed that it is not long before Personal Computers would completely be replaced by their portable and lightweight counterparts.
