firefox_logoCouple of days back we informed you guys about the existence of Javascript vulnerability in Firefox 3.5. Well the Firefox team has been very speedy and quick and has released version 3.5.1 of the browser to fix the vulnerability. The vulnerability affects all those operating systems onto which Firefox can be installed. The vulnerability is linked to the Firefox JavaScript TraceMonkey engine. To resolve this issue, a temporary fix was released which fixed part of the engine.

What we have gathered is that the Firefox team is busy in distributing the latest update to various mirror sites. A public announcement is expected in the next 24 or 48 hours which would allow the users to perform the necessary update and get free from the vulnerability issue.

The latest release sadly is not available on any of the popular download sites. However thanks to ghacks team you can get the latest update for US version of Firefox 3.5.1 (Windows version). All those who use a different operating system or language will have to show patience.

Famous and popular download portals are expected to offer this awaited update on their sites very soon. However for all those users who are quite cautious they might want to wait until an official announcement comes from Mozilla.
