The wait is finally over for all the Firefox users waiting impatiently to get a first look at Firefox 4.0. Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 has been officially unleashed by Mozilla and is available for download for Windows, Mac and Linux platform. UI changes is one of the many things that users will notice after installing the just released Beta version. Details follow after the jump.
Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 features
Here are some of the more notable and worth mentioning changes that Beta 1 of Firefox 4.0 brings:
- Tabs have been repositioned to the top spot. Currently this change is only visible for Windows users. Mac and Linux users will be getting it in a future release.
- The menu bar has been replaced with Firefox button.(Only for Vista and Windows 7)
- You can now search for the opened tabs in the Smart Location Bar.
- The stop and reload buttons have been merged into a single button on Windows, Mac and Linux.
- The Bookmarks Toolbar has been replaced with a Bookmarks Button by default (you can switch it back if you’d like).
- Crash protection for Windows, Linux, and Mac when there is a crash in the Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime or Microsoft Silverlight plugins.
- Native support for the HD HTML5 WebM video format.
