Firefox ported to webOS thanks to PDK, needs fine tuning
Quick Share:
Here we are with another port story and this time it’s the turn of Mozilla’s Linux based browser. Firefox Mobile for Android has been ported to webOS and all the thank goes to none other than PDK, Palm’s Plugin development kit.
The Firefox Mobile browser has been captured running on Palm Pre. The porting effort comes straight from Dave Townsend, a Mozilla developer. The essential How to part is still missing. However this is what is known so far:
It was about two days of work porting the Android project version of Firefox onto webOS, and it’s still buggy and the cramming of the Firefox UI onto the Pre’s screen isn’t exactly a great system.
