Is this a surprise or was this on the script? I will go with the latter option. Samsung has made one heck of a pleasant announcement – it has managed to reach its goal of selling 10 millions Galaxy S phones for the calendar year 2010. By doing so, it now holds the world record of selling most Android phones.

Prior to Christmas, the South Koreans were hopeful of reaching worldwide sales record of 10 million Galaxy S handsets, and as it stands now, they have done what they set out to do.

The world’s second-largest maker of wireless handsets isn’t looking to rest just yet as they look to double their smartphone sales for the year 2011. But for that to happen, they need to make sure that their Galaxy S2 is as hot as the original Galaxy S if not more. Plus, they need to roll out Android 2.2 and Android 2.3 updates which may not happen,  for all the Galaxy S users as soon as possible.
