We have previously informed you about Facebook for iPhone 3.0 app, what are the features, even we shared with you a couple of snapshots of the latest version. Well we are not here to inform you that the app is available at the App store. But we will be sharing with you what are the improvements. And yes, by the way it is expected that the app will be available very soon at the iTunes App Store. In this post we will focus on the prominent changes coming in the 3.0 version. So here it goes. The changes are:

  • A new and improved home screen: The home screen is customizable means that now you can add boxes of your choice to the default start screen.
  • A better “News feed”: It provides a more complete overview of status updates from your friends. However the ability to hide or unhide the news feed from within the app is still missing
  • Videos: The process of uploading videos works smoothly. Sadly you can’t watch videos until and unless they are actually hosted on YouTube.
  • Events: Events feature is there but it is unfortunate that you cannot still the complete event wall
  • Pages: Search, View and Interact with the pages
  • Photos: Create new photo albums, upload photos to any album of your choosing, zoom into photos and change your profile picture.
  • Communication: Call people directly from the Friends page
  • The liking feature has been improved
  • Notifications: Directly link to the comments and respond to them
  • Saved Messages: Lets say you were typing a message and all of a sudden you quit the app or were interrupted by a phone call, no need to worry your incomplete message will be restored.
