What comes after Google’s Froyo? Gingerbread
All of us like and love the cool codenames that Google assigns to its various Android versions. Donut, Eclair and Froyo represent a series of the magnificent naming convention adopted by the search engine giants for its mobile OS. The codename for next Google Android version has just been unleashed. Gingerbread is the name of Froyo’s successor.

Interestingly this name comes at a time when Eclair’s successor i.e. Froyo is yet to be released. This cool information was shared by Brian Swetland, Android’s Kernel guru. Brian while unveiling this cool name also unveiled that the Android 2.1 successor will be finalized by the end of this week. He quoted:
This week we’re finalizing our move to 2.6.32 for the Android “Froyo” release, and we’ll likely be on .33 or .34 for “Gingerbread”.
Ok, the name is cool. But you know what will be even more cooler. The features that this upcoming version will bring.
