According to an email sent by the Android Market Team, Android Market will be going through a scheduled maintenance on Thursday (18th November) due to which it will be available for viewing purposes only. This means developers won’t be able to publish their new apps or roll out updates to the existing ones. This scheduled maintenance announcement has led many to believe that Gingerbread may very well be going live Today.

Gingerbread

The possibility of the arrival of Gingerbread falls in nicely with a not so old tweet posted by Google Mobile in which it hinted at the Froyo successor raring and ready to be unleashed.

During the course of this week, Google CEO Eric Schmidt said that Gingerbread will be going live in the next few weeks. This Thursday doesn’t fall in the next few weeks zone but hey the very same CEO had said no to Nexus Two aka Nexus S so you never know when we might be blessed with Android 2.3.
