HTC plans to roll-out Gingerbread for HTC Desire by cutting off selective apps
We have got some good news for Desire owners. In the latest update from HTC it is confirmed that the company will now serve HTC Desire users with a Gingerbread update along with HTC Sense experience.
Below is the statement, came through HTC Facebook page affirming Gingerbread update on HTC Desire:
To resolve Desire’s memory issue and enable the upgrade to Gingerbread, we will cut select apps from the release. Look for status updates starting next week. We apologize for any confusion.
Previously, HTC UK branch reported that, ‘their engineers, due to less memory in the handset, won’t be able to bring Gingerbread with HTC Sense on Desire’, after which many HTC Desire users got disappointed while some of them even decided that they will switch to other brands.
Now that HTC has fixed it, we (HTC Desire owners) should all be ‘thankful’ to the company for giving us the opportunity to use the latest Android update, but there is still one question which might be confusing many users, that which apps will be taken off from the release?
