It seems to be the rumor week; with two back to back rumors. One of them was about the possible release of WordPress’s Android app, and this one is related to a tablet, no not another Apple Tablet aka iSlate or iGuide rumor, this time its about the Google tablet. Rumor has it that HTC and Google are working together on what seems to be a Chrome OS powered Google tablet.

Sources reports that HTC and Google have been working together “for the past 18 months” and have produced “several working models of a touch tablet,” including one which is named as Google’s Chrome OS. Hang on for a second, they said several working models. Does that mean that we might be seeing another Tablet model which is powered by Android (may be the specialized version of Android)?

It was first published by an Australian news site SmartHouse,  which sees the Google/HTC offering as a direct rival to Apple’s tablet ambitions. But the device can be an equal threat to Microsoft: getting Google Chrome OS into consumer’s hands is key to the operating system’s success.

It is yet hard to say as to whether Google Tablet tries to go head to head with Apple. The launch of Google’s Chrome OS has made it clear they’re looking toward a future with a multitude of devices that can access the Internet quickly, cleanly, and cheaply. A Google Tablet could be just the thing to realize all of those goals.
