Google has rolled out a new Chrome build for its beta channel and is calling it Chrome 4.1 Beta. The Beta version brings with it two new options namely automatic web page translation and a useful bunch of privacy settings.

Coming to the new translation feature. I really like this feature since it eliminates the need to use a plug-in for translation purposes. The way it works is pretty simple. If you land on a page whose language is different from the one set as your preferred language, it will do the translation part. My concern here is that the Google Translate doesn’t succeed in translating the page always. Also missing is the feature to manually translate the page. This is a basic thing and should have been provided as far as my opinion goes.

Privacy settings is the second new feature. This is located under the options dialog. These settings allow you to define how to deal with cookies, images, Javascript, plug-ins and pop-ups for each individual site.
