A few hours back, we informed you about the launch of Google Earth for Android. We told you about the cool set of features it brings specially the impressive 3D look. But all that were words and we didn’t have some hands-on video to actually reveal to you what this cool app is all about. Did I say video? Yup, you can see the video (thanks to Android Central) , which shows Google Earth on Nexus One after the jump.
The app is simply amazing. So amazing that I think there is no need to use the desktop version. The app is smooth, and has an impressive graphics quality for display. The compass allows you to rotate our beloved globe, but unfortunately lacks multi-touch. Pinch-to-zoom works absolutely fine. The app is extremely responsive to finger touch.
The settings screen doesn’t have much to offer except the Clear cache and About option which shows the current version of the app. Help page and Terms of Service don’t work something which Google should have a look at.
As you can see from the video, the app runs pretty fast since it is running on the mighty 1 Ghz processor. This very fact makes me wonder how will it run on other mobile phones such as Droid. Will the non Nexus One users be forced to compromise on speed and smooth performance?
