Honeycomb ported to HTC Hero
Quick Share:
Now that’s what I call a pleasant surprise. XDA developer dastion1015 has done the seemingly impossible, as the hacker has managed to port Honeycomb to the very popular HTC Hero. How stable is the port? Find the answer after the jump.
This port is based on the Honeycomb’s SDK emulator and was achieved using Honeycomb ROMs for HTC Desire and Nexus One as well as some files from the popular CM Nightly build.
Here is a list of things that works and those that don’t:
What Works:
- Honeycomb UI when I changed lcd density to half of original
- Touchscreen (If you seem to lose press search button then back button)
- USB Connection
- LED’s
- Settings
- Rotation (Have to enter camera app in landscape and exit to go to landscape [Stuck in Landscape until reboot])
What Doesn’t Work:
- Audio
- Wifi
- Camera
- SD Mounting
- Data Connection
- SMS
- Calls Gallery (FC’s when selecting)
- And many more.
As evident from the above list, the Honeycomb ROM isn’t one for your daily use. More details regarding this port can be found at this XDA thread. For more Android related news and queries, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and subscribe to our RSS Feed.
