Engadget have gotten their hands on something pretty important – an internal document detailing the specs of the upcoming HP Slate, which some folks are considering as Microsoft’s answer to iPad. The document contains the specs as well as the pricing detail of the Tablet.

The document interestingly performs a one-by-one comparison with the Apple Tablet highlighting the advantages that the Slate has along with the threats imposed by iPad. Interestingly, HP Slate is ahead of the iPad in certain aspects such as the 1.6 Ghz processor compared to the A4 1 Ghz processor. HP Slate has what iPad doesn’t have, a webcam not to forget a front facing camera is there as well. The Tablet will run on Windows 7 Home Premium with the starting price set at $549.

There’s also a $599 version with 64GB of storage, and both models will have a five-hour battery, an SDHC slot a USB port, a SIM card slot for the optional 3G modem, and a dock connector for power, audio, and HDMI out.

What do you think? Does HP Slate has what it takes to offer a tough competition to the iPad?
