HTC was expected to unleash new smartphones today and that is what precisely has taken place. HTC is using the revenue generating HTC Desire name to good use and has announced two new handsets namely HTC Desire HD (shown below) and HTC Desire Z.

HTC Desire HD

HTC Desire HD in my opinion is the big brother of HTC Desire as it has an 8 MP camera with dual flash and HD video recording capabilities. What’s more it is the complete multimedia smartphone as it has Dolby Mobile and SRS virtual sound support which will make sure you have a sensational music listening and movie watching experience.

HTC Desire Z (shown below) on the other hand is QWERTY based Froyo powered handset and just like HTC Desire has a 5 MP camera with LED flash. It has the new 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor which is claimed to improve performance as well as battery life.

HTC Desire Z

HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z will hit European and Asian markets starting from October 2010. Both these devices will be getting the just announced HTC Sense update the details of which is discussed in depth here. Unfortunately, HTC didn’t shed any light on its line up of Windows Phone 7 smartphones. May be they will do on another day and another time.
