HTC Flyer Tablet is an enlarged version of HTC Desire. Will this work? (Update)
HTC folks have been mum about their tablet plans. Digitimes seems to have acquired the knowledge of what the Taiwanese intend to do in the Tablet field. According to the publication, HTC’s first tablet will be called HTC Flyer and will go live in March.
The tablet is speculated to be nothing more than a giant version of HTC Desire and will run on Android 2.3. One gets the feeling that HTC is rushing up with the HTC Flyer in order to beat the launch of other promising tablet PCs:
HTC will launch the Flyer tablets in cooperation with a telecom carrier, aiming to push sales ahead the planned launch of RIM’s PlayBook in March and Motorola’s Xoom in April, the sources noted.
There is no knowledge of the hardware specs of HTC Flyer but let’s just hope that HTC incorporates a dual core processor in the Tablet that will be upgradeable to Honeycomb when it arrives. Here is a question for you to ponder upon: Will HTC Flyer bring in good revenue considering that it’s a non Honeycomb Tablet?
Update 1: Rumored specs of the tablets can be found here.
