HTC Incredible S Review
The HTC Incredible S was designed to fill the 4-inch screen gap that this now infamous Taiwanese manufacturer had in the United Kingdom; it also covers the lower end of the price spectrum quite nicely and should become a keen rival to most other smartphones within this price bracket (which comes in more affordably than high-end handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S and iPhone 4 – costing a relatively small £25 a month).
Although this handset looks fairly small and sleek, it has a thick and robust quality that hints towards a reliable and rugged build; some users have even compared its style to the Motorola Defy – although this does not make an unattractive handset by anybody’s standards; it’s slick black exterior and rubber back will surely manage to win over a great many fans. There is also an excellent eight megapixel camera that comes as standard with the Incredible S; this is a quality piece of hardware which would normally be extremely difficult to find at this kind of price range. The 4-inch screen offers incredible detail and makes using the Incredible S a joy; the brightness of the colours is sure to impress even the most discerning of smart mobile phones fans.
The HTC Incredible S runs Google’s Android OS, which is controlled by the intuitive HTC Sense UI; this is quickly becoming the standard with HTC’s range of smartphones, and it is easy to see why – it offers extremely fast, logical and accurate control.
As with most smartphones, there are a couple of niggling drawbacks to this offering from HTC; such as a poor battery life, the screen being difficult to see in direct light and a somewhat erratic video player. These things aside, and especially considering its price bracket, the HTC Incredible S has more than enough on offer to make it a very wise purchase for anybody looking for a quality 4-inch touchscreen smart phone.
