How to install iOS 4.1

So you have heard about the news of iOS 4.1 update going live and can’t wait to get your iPhone or iPod Touch running the latest firmware. We don’t want to become a hurdle in your goal. So we will keep it simple – guide to install iOS 4.1 on your iDevice follows after the jump.
Steps to install iOS 4.1
Bear in mind that by upgrading you will lose your jailbreak and unlock. So proceed at your own risk.
Step 1 – Install iTunes (download link), if you haven’t done so already.
Step 2 – Connect your iDevice via USB cable and launch iTunes, if it doesn’t start automatically.
Step 3 - Select your Device.
Step 4 - Make a backup of your iDevice settings.
Step 5 – Click the Check for Update button.
Step 6 - Click Download and Install. Wait for the installation/update to finish and then unplug your iDevice.
