Hot on the heels of MuscleNerd revealing their untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 we now have another jailbreak news for you and it’s the news which you will enjoy a lot. comex in the not most obvious way has unveiled that his untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 is ready and will be rolled out before Christmas.

Here’s how the word came out. A tweep by the name iCykey asked comex to provide him an untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak as his Christmas gift:

@comex I want a 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak for christmas :P

To this, the iPhone hacker replied with an innocent looking tweet:

@iCykey you’ll get it.

This pretty much explains why MuscleNerd used the word upcoming when he tweeted the news of having a backup method for the iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak.

In case you forgot, comex is the person who brought the first browser based userland jailbreak under the name JailbreakMe, and the first iPad jailbreak tool Spirit. So it’s pretty clear that this jailbreak will also be of userland nature. Having said that, one just hopes that the yet to be named userland jailbreak doesn’t require the iOS 4.2b3 SHSH, which is a pre-requisite for the iPhone Dev Team’s untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1.
