iPhone Dev Team may/may not release untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2 by Christmas
On reading the title of the post, you might be wondering why iPhone Dev Team is having second thoughts about the release of the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1? Well here is what happened. MuscleNerd first tweeted the extremely good news of his team getting ready to unleash the iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak by Christmas. But then the iPhone Dev Team member deleted the tweet for unknown reasons.
Here are the tweets that were removed:
scotty6kids78: @MuscleNerd are we any closer to the unteathered #jailbreak for the new #ios4.2 on #iphone4 ?
MuscleNerd: @scotty6kids78 it’ll be here by Xmas (not because we’re sitting waiting for Xmas, but because it’s achievable deadline)
One thing which may create confusion is that there are actually two untethered jailbreaks for iOS 4.2.1 – one which the iPhone Dev Team exploited and other being comex’s userland jailbreak. More details about both the jailbreaks can be extracted from the following links:

May be this tweet was deleted because they came across a show stopper after the tweet was posted. Something tells me that we will have clarification from MuscleNerd very soon. To make sure you know about it as it comes, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and subscribe to our RSS Feed.
