Apple as promised in it’s Let’s Talk iPhone event has today released iOS 5, the company’s latest mobile operating system. Amazingly, Apple’s iOS 5 update has arrived with more than 200 new features, some of which were reported to be leaked earlier than iOS 5 was even previewed. Let’s have a quick look at few of the exciting features included in iOS 5 for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch below.

* Notification Center

Notification Center

The new notification center let you manage your notifications, you can set which notification you want to see, for example you can choose, new texts, new e-mail, friend request alerts to appear in your notification center. The new notifications appear at the top of your screen, without causing any interruption between any work you are doing on your device.

* iMessage

iMessage

It is same like BlackBerry Messenger group messaging client that lets you send pictures, video, text, audio and contact information for free over Wi-Fi and 3G networks to other iOS 5 devices.

* Newsstand

Newsstand

Newsstand allows you to store all of your electronic magazine subscriptions in one place. The Newsstand folder let you see your favorite publications quickly and easily.

* Reminders

Reminders

Now you can organize your to-do list in a better way by using Reminders, it lets you save your work you need to do with due-dates and locations.

* Twitter

Twitter

The Twitter is directly integrated into iOS 5, that means now after signing in to your Twitter account in the Settings app, you can easily send tweet from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

* Camera and Photos

Photos

Now you can easily access your iPhone’s camera by simply touching a button on the lockscreen. In iOS 5 your iPhone cameras have become more advance – for they now even have the capability of pinch-to-zoom and tap-to-focus.

* Others

Beside these above mentioned features, the latest iOS 5 also brings, new easier way of browsing in Safari, PC Free and Wi-Fi Sync feature, Multitasking gestures for iPad, new Game Center, AirPlay Mirroring and the most exciting iCloud service features.

Simply download iTunes 10.5 from Apple’s website and connect your iDevice with your PC or Mac, and install the software update. Interestingly, this will be one of your last iOS update you will ever do via iTunes, that is because once the iOS 5 is installed on your iDevice, then there will be no need to plug your iDevices into computers ever again, as Apple has decided to take all future software updates wireless and the company will now stream all iOS updates over the air (OTA).

You can now install iOS 5 on any of your iOS device that was released in or after 2009, that is iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad, iPad 2, iPod touch 3rd generation and iPod touch 4th generation.

Update: Along with iOS 5, Apple has also released a new version of Mac OS X Lion that includes support for iCloud.
