An iPhone repair site iResQ has leaked out a few images of the purported next generation iPhone, iPhone 4G. If these images do represent iPhone 4G prototype, then you can expect the next generation iPhone to have a slightly larger touch-screen – a quarter inch longer to be exact. There is also a possibility of proximity sensor being relocated at the spot just above the speaker. More details after the jump.

The repair site share the following information regarding the leaked iPhone 4G parts:

  • The LCD appears to be factory glued to the digitizer which is more similar to the first generation iPhones than the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The digitizer can be separated from the LCD on the 3G and 3GS models, which should be interesting to all, but for the repair folks like us–this means that the 4G screen repair price will be higher since both parts will have to be replaced at once.
  • The iPhone 4G front panel seems to be about 1/4″ longer than its predecessors.
  • There is an interesting reflective, mirror-like surface directly above the speaker. This is likely a spot for the proximity sensor. If that’s what it is, it’s in a different location than previous models.

Recent rumors suggest that iPhone 4G will become equipped with a 5 megapixel camera, LED flash, Wireless 802.11n, dual core processor, live video chat and a Magic Mouse like touch-sensitive casing. iPhone 4G is expected to make its debut in July.

The thing which one needs to focus on here is this – does iPhone 4G need a larger touch-screen only? My answer to this is Yes, since this is a practice that is gaining wide adoption, so Apple is better off in joining that bandwagon. What I would like to see is the next gen iPhone to have a better resolution to improve user-experience. Do you agree with me or you have something of your own to add? In any case, you are more than welcome to share with us your thoughts via the comments power vested in you.
