Before Apple announced iPhone 4S, many of us thought that the Cupertinos would launch the 4 inch carrying iPhone 4 successor, but that wasn’t to be as everyone found out. All is not lost though, as Macotakara is now reporting that Apple is planning on incorporating a 4 inch LCD screen for its next gen iOS device. Which iOS device might that be? We answer this question after the break.

iPhone 5 screen

Unfortunately, the Japanese blog’s unnamed source hasn’t mentioned the device that will get the 4 inch glass. Your guess is as good as our as we too are thinking iPhone 5, based on our own gut feeling as well as previous rumors. And here’s the interesting part of this rumor, Sony Mobile Display and Hitachi Display are providing touch screens for the next gen iOS devices. You would have thought Samsung but that seems unlikely given the recent lost of love between the two tech giants.
