AT&T: iPhone 5 isn’t coming in June/July
A week in the technology world is incomplete these days without iPhone 5 speculations. So here comes your first iPhone 5 rumor for this week. A Macrumor reader claims to have received information from an AT&T representative according to which iPhone 5 won’t be going live in the month of June or July as suggested by some rumors.

What led to the disclosure of this important bit of information? Here’s your answer. The reader who happens to be an iPhone owner realized that his eligibility date for a subsidized upgrade was pushed back to five months and inquired the AT&T customer care personnel the reason behind this extended date. To this query, he got the following reply:
Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us.
Even though this news falls in the rumor category, we feel that this information may very well be the real deal for a simple: White iPhone 4 was recently launched and Apple won’t want to affect the sales of its white colored stainless steel phone by launching the iPhone 5 which will be a world phone in June. Apple’s best bet now is to unleash the iPhone in September a release date which has been supported by the rumor mill.
