The title of the post doesn’t paint a pretty picture does it? BGR citing Macrumors forum reports that some iPhone 5 units are suffering from a light leakage problem. How widespread is the problem? We answer this question after the break.

iPhone 5 leaking light

What we know at the moment is that the problem is related to the white uniform wearing iPhone 5 and is noticeable in a low light or dark environment. The light is leaking out from the top end of the phone in between the aluminum antenna and the magical retina display screen. The tech blog has even caught sight of a small crack just beneath the power button (as shown in the above image).

At the moment, it’s not clear if this is happening for majority of the iPhone 5 audience or it’s affecting only a small portion of unlucky white iPhone 5 owners. But, there is no denying that this issue along with the flickering screen defect won’t make the affected population happy as it requires them to visit the Apple Stores and get a replacement unit, which may or may not have the same light leakage problem.
