Possibility: US getting iPhone 5 in October
9 to 5 Mac gang has gotten their hands on an interesting AT&T internal document which hints at a possible launch date for the iPhone 5. If our understanding of the document is correct, October is the month in which once Apple’s favorite son will start selling the much awaited iOS 5 powered phone.
Here’s a simplified version of the above shown document:
A new tier of device will be created in AT&T’s phone database on October 4th (a Tuesday:) which will require a higher rate of insurance. iPhone (and other devices) will move there on the arbitrary October 4th date. It is curious that the iPhone was mentioned specifically and not other devices.
How does 4th October sound to you as a release date for iPhone 5, considering the fact that the said date is Tuesday and not Friday? From where I see things, it is possible that AT&T will start selling the iPhone in the first week of October, possibly on 7th October, if Apple sticks to its Friday product launch culture.
What does the rumor mill tell us about the release date for iPhone 5? Well, we have been hearing multiple release dates, some saying August while others saying September. In the light of all these, you are safe to adopt the we will believe it when we see it approach.
