US getting iPhone 5 on 5th September
iPhone 5 has become an overly talked about topic these days hasn’t it? While this holds true, last few days and weeks in the rumor mills have been rather interesting ones for the Apple lovers across the globe as they have been treated to speculated release dates of August, October for the much awaited iPhone 5. We have another such rumor to share with you guys. According to iPhone Italia, the Cupertinos will start selling the next gen iPhone in US starting from 5th September.

The Italian blog got this information from a senior executive of Swisscom who revealed 5th October as the release date of iPhone 5 in Switzerland. So what this means is that US will get the iPhone 5 on 5th September whereas other countries such as UK, China and others will get it on 5th October assuming this claim becomes true.
But the immediate problem I have with this release date is that 5th of September is Monday and not the iPhone launch day, Friday. May be Apple will change the launch day or may be it will launch the iPhone 5 in US on 9th September. Only time will tell. The usual idea is that you would use NFC to set up the link between the two devices and then do an automatic hand over to a different protocol for doing the actual transfer of data – eg Bluetooth
