The iOS 4.1 has landed on a number of devices and this is exactly the time when we will hear of interesting jailbreak developments. pod2g, the man who has found a bootrom exploit for the iOS 4.1 is again at the center of this news. Based on his recent tweet, seems that Greenp0ison a tool developed by p0sixninja which never became the iPad jailbreak tool might finally see the daylight and jailbreak iOS 4.1.

Update 3: Greenpois0n has been released. Details here.

Here’s the tweet which has triggered a new wave of excitement:

Hey, @p0sixninja ‘s epic greenpois0n works well on iPhone 4G ! (need to work on the framebuffer code tho ! )

There is a reason that pod2g is using Greenp0ison. It is being used as a toolkit possibly alongside SHAtter, thus helping the jailbreak gang in speeding up the jailbreak tool development and is saving a lot of time as indicated by Will Strafach

remember when we said greenpois0n would come to use later as a toolkit? using it to create this jailbreak is cutting our workload in half (or maybe more). that’s why pod mentioned it.

Update 1: According to pod2g, the release of Greenpois0n is just days away. Details here.

Update 2: p0sixninja has revealed 10th October as the release date for greenpois0n.
