Leaked Android 2.1 ROM reveals future HTC Android phones, a lot of them

Just Yesterday, we informed about the leakage of Android 2.1 ROM for HTC Hero. Well guess what that leaked ROM brought with it more than an Android 2.1 firmware. The very same ROM quite surprisingly contains names for HTC’s current and future planned Android powered handsets. The long list includes some familiar names as well which includes Hero, Dream and a lot of unheard and unfamiliar names. (Full list of HTC Android phones posted below)
These codenames for Android phones, from HTC, which were deeply rooted in the ROM code include
- Bahamas
- Bravo
- DesireC
- Dragon
- Dream
- Espresso
- Halo
- HeroCT
- HeroC
- Hero
- Huangshan
- Incredible
- Legend
- Liberty
- Memphis
- Paradise
- PassionC
- Passion
- Sapphire
- Supersonic.
This interesting leakage puts HTC in a critical, where it has to do a lot of answering and repair work , specially with Microsoft and its Windows Mobile division. Previously, HTC came out and expressed its intentions to stick with Windows Mobile which seems doubtful with this latest leakage.
But it might be a bit early to draw conclusions. Because we only know the codenames for the planned Android phones.
