Linkedin

When one of our acquaintances (identity not revealed due to privacy concerns) got an email from LinkedIn stating that their profiles were among the top 5% profiles being viewed on the professional network they just could not believe it was so. It was not much later that the actual story was revealed. LinkedIn actually celebrated the reaching of the 200 million mark of its registered users by launching an ego boosting campaign! They were smart enough in getting their website promoted and not having to spend even a penny in doing so! Targeting their users’ egos LinkedIn boosted their member’s egos by sending them e-mails similar to the one showed in the image above. Upon clicking the “Read More” button the e-ail opened up into an E-letter similar to the image attached below.

This email prompted most of the users receiving it to either share this great news via email or via social media as prompted in a sharing window box on the right. Statistics revealed that there were massive number of shares of such tweets on twitter and other social media domains. Each clicking of the LinkedIn profile link earned profit for the site itself and Viola all that the website had to do for it was boost the egos of its members!!

Good profit earning strategy LinkedIn!!
