Here we are yet again with another post regarding the warmly welcomed technology referred to as Microsoft Surface 2.0. The technology has a new name now “Microsoft PixelSense”.  As mentioned in our earlier post PixelSense is the name given to the touch and gesture sensing technology that enables usability to reach at its heights.

Samsung, the hardware giant has stepped into putting the thought of PixelSense into reality by producing Samsung SUR 40. Several commercial and financial institutions like the Singapore DBS Consumer Bank have joined hands with Samsung to practically deploy the excellence of PixelSense in their customer service areas in order to enhance usability and facilitate customer relationship management.

The technology is designed mainly to provide a real world object experience to the users providing a 360 degree interface. Collaboration and Connectivity are given a new meaning by the introduction of Microsoft PixelSense Technology. The limits of the extension of PixelSense are limitless and are connected to your imagination. The technology is not only restricted to Tabletops but can also be spread out on the wall or even in space as a matter of fact.

Microsoft mentions the possibilities of PixelSense int he following words:

Microsoft Surface 2.0 Surface Developer’s Kit (SDK 2.0) is the way developers are making their way into making applications for being used on this 360 Degree platform. These may include games as well as professional applications. The ability of this SDK to target touch sensing capabilities of Windows 7 and 8 enable it to be referred to as a “Write Once – Touch Anywhere” feature.
