Microsoft updates Outlook connector for Outlook 2010, download it here
Having problems connecting to your mailbox using the just launched Outlook 2010 Beta? Well that’s possibly because you haven’t installed the just updated Outlook connector for Outlook 2010. You might be getting the following error message upon opening Outlook 2010.
Cannot open you default e-mail folders. An unexpected error has occured. MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured.

Microsoft has updated the Outlook Connector to version 14.0.4514.1004 to solve this very problem.
Here are the steps to fix the above highlighted problem
- Close Outlook 2010, if it is open.
- Open Control Panel.
- Click on the Add or Remove programs option
- Uninstall your existing Outlook Connector and restart
- Download and install the new connector with version number 14.0.4514.1004
- Open Outlook 2010
By successfully completing these steps, you can once again access the just released Outlook beta.
