Yesterday or day before Yesterday I heard the name Motorola Droid. So I decided to go ahead and search what’s the whole story. So in this post I will be discussing you with the specifications for Motorola Droid as well as the names that have been associated with them.

Did you thought that Motorola Droid is the only name that Motorola preferred for this device. Well normally that is the general practice. But Motorola Droid has a different story. Initially it was called Motorola Sholes. Then it was named Motorola Tao and finally it was named Motorola Droid.

The problem with competing with the Iphone is that the Iphone is exclusive to AT&T and it has 2 year contracts associated with it. People cannot just drop their Iphone and move to the Droid. The other problem is the Iphone 3GS came out first and is one of the reasons Apple had record revenues which goes back to the 2 year contracts. That means Verizon’s potential customer base is way way smaller then Apples. Verizon may be able to steal some of the first Iphone owners and the 3G owners but the 3GS are locked to AT&T for awhile.

Well I would like to agree with Jake. But point is people are not mad that they will easily switch to Droid. And secondly I would say that Droid Eris is better than Motorola Droid I suppose.
