Motorola XOOM goes live. Here’s what you need to know.
Do you know what date is today? Yes, you are right. It’s 24th, the day which Verizon and the entire Android universe has been waiting for. The unleashing of world’s first ever Honeycomb Tablet, Motorola XOOM has arrived upon us and there is some information we think you should know, and it is available for your viewing pleasure after the jump.
Motorola Xoom Specifications
If you plan of buying this hot looking gadget, you will need to look at the following specs:
- 1 Ghz Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual Core Processor.
- 1 GB DDR 2 RAM.
- 10.1 inch multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1280*800 pixels.
- Honeycomb aka Android 3.0.
- 32 GB of internal storage.
- 5 MP rear facing camera.
- WiFi
- 3G
Motorola XOOM does sport a microSD slot but is currently unusable. Motorola’s response to this is that it will work and all it needs is a software update which will come via Google. Another thing to note here is that the Tablet can offer around 8 hours of battery life which is enough I presume.
Pricing
I get the feeling that you have plans of purchasing this sizzling Tablet and we don’t want to stand in your way. There are two pricing models that you can choose from:
- $799 for Motorola XOOM 3G/4G without any contract.
- $599.99 for Motorola XOOM 3G/4G with a two year contract.
Motorola does have the WiFi version of the promising iPad competitor and it will come with the price tag of $600. The problem is currently it is unavailable for purchase.
